What is the RISE and RALLY Bowl?
The idea was born out of a desire to do something for the seniors who were missing a bowl trip through no fault of their own. The concept is to rally the Nittany Nation for the bowl-like party of the year where they can thank this senior class that means so much to all of us. Plus, we just felt like we were missing one last tailgate!
How can you have a Bowl Trip with no game?
Sometimes bowl trips are memorable for the trip and events more than the game. We have planned a lot of great opportunities for Nittany Lion fans to feel like they are celebrating the season. The RISE and RALLY Bowl will end with a giant tailgate party in the beautiful House of Blues Concert Venue. The nearly $100 per head tailgate party will be over the top! We will be recognizing the participating seniors, watching the NCAA Championship game on the big screen and will also have the PSU/Indiana basketball game that evening. The tailgate party will have activities going on throughout the evening.
What additional events occur if I decide to come Saturday for the VIP Package?
VIP package and ticket holders will have an intimate opening reception in EGO Lounge with a special performance by the Almost Angels group. There will be photo ops with former players, cocktails and food, along with gaming tables set up in the reception for those of you who want to try your luck at a little blackjack. Later that evening there will be a club event to keep the party going long into the night. Earlier in the day on Saturday during registration, VIP’s will get first access to the RISE and RALLY store and an art show where former players will be displaying their work.
Why did you choose Atlantic City and the Taj Mahal and Showboat?
We wanted to make the event easy to get to, fun and accessible to as many Nittany Lion fans as possible. The Showboat and Taj Mahal are located on the boardwalk. Plus, both hotels are connected with a walkway, so you will not need to go outside in the event of bad weather. The hotels and casinos are fabulous, with lots to do. Both properties are located next to the brand new Revel Casino that recently opened, which adds many options for guests to experience other activities.
What happens when we get there on Sunday?
Every guest receives a gift bag upon arrival and the celebration kicks off at 4 p.m. We will have a Sunday evening opening party in the Grand Ballroom at the Taj Mahal. In addition to a great menu, open bar and activities, we will have the NFL Wild Card game on the big screens during the event. Later on Sunday there will be a club event for all the night owls. Also on Sunday, the RISE and RALLY shop will be open, along with the Art Show and Gallery displaying the work of former PSU players. We are also planning a Nittany Nation Poker Party, hosted by a special guest.
Describe what the film sessions are?
We thought it would be fun to have players from great games of the past conduct film sessions with fans. The panel will highlight plays and events that occurred at key moments and include things that most fans may not have noticed or realized. There will be lots of story telling and great tales of the past. We are planning on film sessions from each decade.
Are there any other events planned?
Too many to detail here, however, you can be sure that the three days are filled with plenty of activities, food and drinks, and interactions with former players. In addition to some of the things mentioned, we will be having a special surprise guest host at the Fight On State Trivia breakfast, a story telling lunch hosted by a panel of former players and many opportunities to express your thanks to the greatest senior class in PSU history.
How can I help pay for the seniors to enjoy their bowl trip?
The organizers have committed to front the costs of every senior appearing. Each ticket or package has an amount built in to help defray the cost for the seniors. In exchange, the seniors have been asked to participate in all events with fans and they are excited to thank the fans for all their support.
Fans who want to sponsor the cost for one senior to attend the event can do so by purchasing a ROCK STAR SPONSORSHIP PACKAGE. If you pay for one player to attend, we think you are a ROCK STAR and we will treat you like one at the event. Priority access, private session with the players, suite accommodations and much more will await your trip.
Why are the tickets so expensive?
They really are not expensive when you look at all the events, food and beverage. In addition, they include all taxes, fees, gratuities, visitor bureau fees and other costs. The event will be a first class affair with quality menus and open bar at almost all events. A portion of each ticket price is allocated to help defray the cost of each senior’s appearance at the event. Our goal is to make this a memorable bowl-like trip for each senior. The former players who have committed to attend and interact with fans are truly appreciative and are looking forward to the event.
